Why Pace Doesn’t Matter

Hey Reader,

A few quick things for you this week—especially if you're in or near Toronto!

....but first. Congrats Kristy!

🗓️ You're Invited: None to Run Group Run in Toronto!

I'm hosting a free group run and would love for you to join.

📅 Date: Sunday, June 22, 2025
⌚ Time: 10:00 AM
📍 Location: High Park (Exact meetup spot will be emailed closer to the date)

We’ll go for a relaxed 30-minute run (or walk/run!) together—no pace pressure. Coffee after!

Come as you are and run your current N2R workout if you'd like.

🧠 Running Tip: Listen to Your Body, Not Your Watch

We just updated our Rate of Perceived Effort (RPE) scale—a simple way to measure how hard a run feels (instead of staring at pace data).

🏃‍♂️ Try to keep your run intervals at an RPE of 5 or lower in the early stages.

🚩 If things feel like a 7 or higher consistently, that's your signal to repeat a week and build more confidence and endurance

You just have to start—and keep going.

You sure about that?” Then did it 😊 I was slow as a turtle - and the distance and time that you see here includes the warmup and cooldown. I was running for 39 minutes, so.. slow as a turtle 😉 but I ran! No walking there...
